STUDENT COMMENTS:
Just excellent! Really a MUST. The best for review. Well organize and excellent structure for a quick and simple review. Its structure allows remind all key concepts. I loved it! (Marina) A really nice quick reference book. This book is really simple and easy to read. It has simplified everything tremendously, which works for me. This is a review book, so if you haven't learned the material previously don't expect to learn it from this book. First Aid is probably a must to have for Step 1 but it's way harder to read or use when you just remembered something and want to quickly check it. I'm using both First Aid and this, and I like them both.
(Anna)A neat supplement for the Step 1. This book is neat and simple. It is a wonderful supplement in preparing for Step 1. Dr. Carl's notes in tabular/chart format is easy to read. (M. Hameer) Easy to use, amazingly helpful! I used this book as part of my Step 1 studying and found it easy to use, well organized and great for self-testing with helpful chart formats. It's terrific for last minute reviewing and also for getting a good framework to organize the material as you learn it. The CD Rom is also fantastic, really helped me to solidify those "buzzword" associations. Thanks, Dr. Carl!
(A. Schwartz)Nice, but worth $30? This book is nice and simple, has a lot of point-form facts. Comes with a CD that has 1-line multiple choice questions (not in the actual USMLE format, but the author doesn't make any claims about that one, so I guess I can give him that.) Easy to read and everything.. I'd stick to the First Aid book and use this as a backup.
(Jay S. Kothari)Great Step I book! Much easier read than some of the mountainous question books for Step I. Great companion to First Aid. Great Review. Very useful for the IMGs. Contains the majority of informations necessary to pass an exams that requires lots of associations between facts that just need to be memorized. The new edition (2002) has been greatly improved, it is better than other more popular comprehensive reviews. Excellent review for Step 1. This book is so simple to read that I assumed that it could not be comprehensive. After the exam, I realized just how good the book was. The book looks thick but that is only because the charts and diagrams are big and clear and there is plenty of room to add notes. It is an excellent final review of key concepts and details. Much easier to read than First Aid. If you know everything in this book, you are very well prepared for Step 1.
(Umber76)Fantastic!!! Fantastic review, very well written and presented Easy ,even funny form of presentation makes studying much easier. Absolutely A MUST for USMLE exams. Worth every penny. (Grace "szczaw" (Texas)) Really good book!!! I'm a medical student in Canada, and I really enjoyed using your Boards Step 1 Made Ridiculously Simple book. It is one of the best books I have ever encountered. Thank you so much for writing it. I am now starting my Pediatrics residency... USMLE step one rapid high-yield review a MUST! Carl's simple, but comprehensive paperback text is an outstanding adjunct to preparation and study for the USMLE step one exam. High-yield content is presented in tabular format to review large amounts of material in a short space of time. I found this volume particularly useful during the final few days prior to the examination. It's a nice change from last-minute cramming of questions and information that can really add a few extra points to your score on this exam. Check out Carl's similar volume for USMLE step two as well.
