A 65 yo man comes to office for 1 week history of increasing cough production of small amount of clear sputum and shortness of breath on exertion. He has smoked one and half packs of cigarettes per day for past 40 years. He quit smoking 14 months ago when he was told that he had severe lung disease. He appears to be in no acute distress.
