Got the result in mail just now.. updated last wednesday. Exam dates 3/31 & 4/2.
So, this exam is unpredictable.. u don't know how you are doing till u get the result. My first day I came back thinking its a goner. Lots & lots of images, peds & psych. Still kept telling myself that there another day & CCS. 2nd day felt no good either. MCQs pretty much similar to the first day. CCS was quicker than I thought but I had no clue how it went. One case of vaginal bleed I still don't know what was going on with that patient. Others patient all got better but i did a lot of tests I later felt were not needed or had better alternatives.
Basicaly to prepare, I did UW (did not score, used like a book), FA * 2-3 (i liked this one) and read CS3 * 1. NBME score 1 week before exam 450. Am doing IM residency 2nd year so had very very little time to study. I think even people who have GCs shud take step 3 before residency. Sure the experience helps but its much much more stressful timing & studying with the busy schedule. Also if anything the step 3 experience may even at some level make the first few months smoother.
I was dead scared getting nightmares abt flunking exam. Was overnight in the hospital last night.. woke up just now & went down to check the mail with pounding heart.. score 218/90
Just keep the faith in yourself & do what you can!
Questions are welcome.. Good Luck Everyone!
