They're all blended together, the performance is overall,there is no way to separate MCQ from CSS. But I repply this once again on this forum; you can fail this exam because of CSS but you cannot pass it because of CSS.You fail or pass the test after you have answered the last question of MCQs series and the computer knows you result; and in some test center some clerk knows the outcome of your exam ; but they won't voice it to you, sometimes for some reason they give some clues, so you can start preparing again, but is very rare. The CCS is just a reaffirmation of your performance on MCQs series eventhough theorically it's 20% scoring. Believe me there is no way if you perform baddly on MCQs they will let you get away with it. 73 is a decent score, that doesn't mean that your performance is not higher than the MEAN; but the (p) value is very questionable: that's mean the likelihood that you don't have the knowledge required to practice unsupervised medicine in this country is very high, or not acceptable; The computer needs to test you again (reliability); on your next test precision really matter.
How this works, there are some basic questions that you are not allowed to miss no more than 25% of them; they are all over the test, many of them are straight forward questions, some of them very short, and others not even have more than 5 words statement ; they are not tricky (the examinee doesn't want them to be ,long, or confuse or not explicit(they don't want them to be subject to BIAS). The rationale behind this concept is: How can you answer right some very difficult questions and those basics easy one of the daily medical practice you miss them (precision). And there is something you don't know, there are a class of questions in the test named bad quetions; they have been designed in such a way that even the best experienced specialist MD in this speciality will miss them! How can you you answer them correctly and miss those basic ones that are vital for a good practice of medicine in this country(Is this chance? If it really is; it's not acceptable, let be honest...)you will be tested again on the CSS in the field complementary to your weakest and your strongest point. Those 2 cases you think that you missed may be are from your weak point.
Eventhough the examees rely on science to repport your overall performance; They are many bad Doctors that get away with it specially (AMG). They know that, and they try to keep it to a minimum by using sensitive and very specific test. Never the least many good doctors get trapped in their net(specially IMG.
Now you know, next time what to do.If you still in denial you can challenge your score but it will not change the outcome.
