done with usmle step 3
passed score 76....studied for a few months on and off.. studied maily step 2 Kaplan books and UW And Kaplan Q bank ( old version)
I did not do Crush, Swanson and First Aid ( idont know whether it was a good decision.....only thing is it kept my brain clear...i did not get confused...but I probably needed some of these...i am not sure)
Day 1 was Ok...i already knew that questions will be long and vague...so after the end of day 1 i had an impression that i did OK...but in fact it was bad
day 2...similar questions...same gut feeling abt questions
CCS cases....i did well in 6 to 7 cases...messed up 2 cases...but no pt died
I think in CCS i did better than average....so that means my quetions were less than passing score ( my score 76)
key is DO CCS cases Well....if u do bad in that and average in quetions ....very likely u will fail...u shud get at least 5 to 6 cases good...inpatient and ER cases are more difficult than outpatient
Do CCS cases well....thats the key....practice UW cases in FSMB software...i did that religiously...
for questions.....DO NBME seriously 10 days before the exam....It is very predictive...Plz do it..Do it seriously just like a real exam....check ur score if its good like 80 + and if u have done CCS very well then only ur ready for exam...THEN only U R READY for Exam.
