Sub acute can be sub acute granulomatous or subacute lymphocytic.. if its subacute granulo( also called dequvervain thyroiditis0), b/c of viral infection, it is painful,
but post partum which is like, subacuteltmphocytic caused by drugs like amiodarone, IF. IL. will not cause pain
i guess this should be ur confusion.
