A 68-year-old white female who is a new patient comes to your office for a health maintenance evaluation. The only significant findings in her history are an auto accident at age 50 that resulted in a ruptured spleen and subsequent splenectomy, mild hypertension that is adequately controlled with hydrochlorothiazide (HydroDIURIL), 25 mg daily, and mild osteoarthritis for which she takes occasional acetaminophen. She cannot recall receiving any immunizations since "before the accident."
In addition to influenza vaccine, pneumococcal vaccine, and tetanus-diphtheria toxoid, which one of the following immunizations is indicated for her at this time?
1) No additional immunizations are recommended
2) Measles-mumps-rubella (MMR) vaccine
3) Haemophilus influenzae type b conjugate vaccine (HbCV)
4) Hepatitis B vaccine
