You are right, it often is better to know one book really well, than to know a little of many books. When I took the Step2, I avoided the NMS
(I found them to boring) with the exception of NMS Ob/Gyn. I read the "Cecil Essentials" (Internal Medicine) and the little Rudolph
(Pediatrics). While a bit longer than the NMS books, I found them easier to read and understand. Do as many MC questions as yu possibly
can. The NMS set is great, but you need more. (I did about 5,000 questions for the Step2 preparation!!!).
