If you have the time and energy, it would be best to take the Step-1 while you are still in med
school and things are still fresh in your memory. By the time you are done with the clinical
subjects you will have forgotten most of your anatomy and biochemistry... But wait until you have
PHARMACOLOGY and PATHOLOGY "under your belt".
And study form US materials and resources for the exam! It is important to recognize clinical
vignettes, but you do not need Internal Medicine knowledge for your Step-1.
