Oxidation
1:Addition of O2 or (N2 + O2 -------> N2O)
2:Removal of H2 or (FAD + H2 ---------> FADH2)
3:Removal of Elecron (Fe++ ----> Fe+++)
Reduction is exactly opposite
1:Removal of O2 or
2:Addition of H2 or
3:Addition of electrons)

When any two substances like X or Y react in an oxidation reduction reaction then one is oxidized and the other is reduced
Alochol + NAD --------->NADH + acetaldehyde
in this reaction
Alcohol = oxidized to acetaldehyde
NAD = redcuced to NADH
Best of luck
