THE ANSWER IS LIOKE THIS ..THE PENETRACE OF a disease - causing mutation is quantified by estimating the proportion of the obligate carries ( ( individual who hav ethe disease and display the disease causeing mutation genotype) who display the disease ( kaplan bio ) i.e penetrance =people who display th edisease/obligate carrier in this quesion it will be like this:
80=x/75 ( why 75 because in autosomal dominant the obligate carriier are 3/4 so =75 %)
x = 60% these are those who display the disease
but wewant those who did not display the diseae i twill be the 100-60 =40%( why ? because the obligate carriers are 2 kinds either dispaly the disease or not dispaly the disaeas so the total is 100% )
