I am not in NY. I have many patients but may be 50 pts that gets pain meds due to chronic conditions. I have drug screens, narcotic contracts etc etc and good documentation. I think one of my pt who is in hospice irritated the pharmacist so they made a complaint.
They commanded the 10 charts which are fine. they can look at them. I dont know when is the time to get a lawyer. My boss/associate thinks there might be a warning or reprimand.
I also have fired many in the past if they fail the test or if there are suspicions.
I dont know what the process is with regarding reviewing charts or how long does it take.
I have worked almost 10 yrs in primary care and I like where I am but the paperwork is alot and now thinking of may be working for the VA but I dont know if it will be a problem since I dont know if I ll have to write pain meds for them if they are already on them.
