sorry I wasn't more clear. It helps if you're in a fellowship because you meet and work with the surgeons who can recommend and get you a spot for residency after you're done. Or you can be a clinical attending at a large university, but you will never be able to perform surgeries on your own without a residency. Hope this clarifies it, best wishes
