no absoloutly not....i know some people who have done CME's to correct the gap.... i believe some states are okay with that, but there is also a friend in illinois, who they gave a very hard time when she applied for a license... because she had a gap.... so i am not an expert in this by any chance, i just know that in some states, not practicing medicine for an extended period of time can mean they will not give you a license... so my suggestion is to do CME's ... requirements vary from state to state... some want 50 CMEs per year,some want more... you can check individual state licensing requirements at each state's sites... google them. with some states you can argue that you have done CME's so technicly you havent been away from medicine.... but then again it isnt the same in every state....
This is just my understanding.If anyone knows more about this, please share your input, and correct me if you disagree....
