The posting that was placed is very atypical, we in no way choose to dissuade you from applying to residencies of choice but we are very realistic to the statistical data provided. Having a third attempt, and no US lors is a very rare match for IM,to say matching into a residency program is all luck is greatly misleading and very irresponsible. Laure also has posted FP is the more natural choice, there are programs in NY that have a great high turn over rate that will take applicants with multiple attempts but even those programs are becoming competitive. We are not by any means trying to let any applicant down. We do however, feel very responsible for any advice we give and are very wary of the previous post.
