well it is quit difficult to get observation thru call, this is what i am thinking, if you know any doctor in your Surrounding, just ask him for help, coz Observation/externship is given by personal relations. That is what i did 4 months back in MN.
i called almost all hospitals they refuse me then i meet directly to One Doc in Cardiologoy and ask him i want to do Observation..... and he allowed me, During that period i made my PR with other docs and got observation in IM for next two months.
