If you are from asia, Buy all the books as international editions as they are cheaper. keep all bills, you can get reimbursed for them. upto a max of 500$. harrisons-2 vol ed is better than the single as it is difficult to hold and read. Useful but not used so much in the US nowadays. Wash manual same as harrisons. the drug reps will give you a copy here. But you could buy one if its cheap. Most of the books used here are manuals- which you get only here in the US- Tarascon Critical care etc. res
