Financial concerns are only addressed if the patient inquires about it. You don't say anything about insurance or financial situation unless pt says "Doc, I cannot afford these tests, I don't have a job, etc...", Then you say "I understand your concern, but it is important that we run these tests to figure out your condition, and we have an excellent social service program at the hospital to help you with your financial need" That's all you need to say...Remember this is an act, nothing's real, so we need to learn to act as well...sad but true
